In recent years there has been a growing interest for topological insulators (TIs). TIs are insulators in bulk, but have conductive states on the surface. Most of the discovered TIs are also known for their excellent thermoelectrical (TE) properties near room temperature. To highlight the properties of the surface conductance states it is important to suppress the conductivity of the bulk coming from defects. Bulk conductivity can be minimized by downsizing of at least one dimension of a TI structure to nanoscale, which will result in increase of surface-to-volume ratio, combined with specific vacancy-compensating doping Doping can also be used to increase the TE properties of material by optimizing charge carrier concentration while preserving mobility. In this work the changes in TI properties are investigated in different concentration antimony doped Bi2Se3 nanoribbons, while TE properties are studied for different concentration antimony and tin doped Bi2Se3 thin films.
