Nowadays, there is a high intensity of transport on the road, entering and leaving the urban areas, going on holidays during the weekends, as well as visiting public events, difficulties concern not only the access to the parking lot, but also inaccessibility in the parking lot itself. Meanwhile, the number of cars in Latvia is increasing significantly with each passing year. The bachelor paper "The Possibilities of Using Photography to Measure Car Traffic Intensity" investigated, which of different methods (observation, photography and aerial photography) is more effective for measuring traffic intensity in parking lot. Data was obtained using both a camera and an unmanned aerial vehicle, and simply recording observations manually. The thesis deals with in-depth analysis of available literature, development of cartographic material using different methods and evaluation of obtained data. Results indicate that if the observable territory is small, then more effective is the manual observation and photography methods.
