Maģistra darba “Izaicinājumi Eiropadomes secinājumu tulkošanā latviešu un zviedru valodā” mērķis ir aprakstīt teorētiskās nostādnes un principus Eiropadomes secinājumu tulkošanā, kā arī noteikt visbiežāk un visretāk lietotās tulkošanas stratēģijas un īpašas pazīmes, kas novērojamas Eiropadomes secinājumu tulkojumos. Maģistra darbu veido četras daļas. Pirmajā daļā ir aplūkotas tulkošanas teorētiskās nostādnes. Darba otrajā daļā tiek iztirzātas īpašas pazīmes saistībā ar tulkojumiem ES institūcijās. Darba trešajā daļā ir aplūkota intervija ar Eiropas Savienības Padomes ģenerālsekretariāta Latviešu valodas tulkošanas nodaļas vadītāju Baibu Aleksejuku, kā arī sākotnējās izpētes rezultāti. Darba ceturto daļu veido Eiropadomes secinājumu un to tulkojumu latviešu un zviedru valodā kontrastīvā analīze, kurā ir aplūkotas praktiskās darba metodes, darba rezultāti un analīze. The aim of this Master thesis is to describe the theoretical concepts and principles of translating European Council’s conclusions, as well as to identify the most and least often used translation strategies and peculiarities of European Council’s conclusions and their translations into Latvian and Swedish. The Master thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter discusses the translation process in general. The second chapter deals with the peculiarities of translations within EU institutions. The third chapter looks at an interview with Baiba Aleksejuka, Head of the Latvian Language Unit at the Directorate 3A – Translations of the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union, as well as the initial research results. The fourth chapter describes the main findings and results of contrastive analysis of European Council’s Conclusions and their translations into Latvian and Swedish.
