Four-phase rhinomanometry is an effective method of functional examination of the nose ventilation, which is not only a complementary method for diagnosing the symptoms of nasal breathing but also provides information on the physiology of nasal respiration. In the past, the standard values for adults have been researched and developed. Children under the age of 15 have hypotheses for nasal respiration and possible standard values. However, there is a lack of information on nasal respiration and its relevance to anthropometric parameters in the 16 to 19 age group. The aim of this study is: •to assess nasal breathing with four-phase rhinomanometry in the age group of 16 to 19 years and determine the coherence between anthropometric parameters and rhinomanometry data. The study found that in this age group, the results of rhinomanometry showed a statistically significant difference between genders (p> 0.05): the average nasal airflow values were better than the ones of younger age groups and very close to adult values. The study summarized 320 four-phase rhinomanometric measurements of 80 healthy teens - 40 girls and 40 boys - as well as anthropometric parameters for each volunteer. Conclusions: 1.With age, nasal breathing resistance decreases in the age group of 16 to 19 and anthropometric measurements show no significant differences. 2.In this age group, men show lower nose resistance values and higher anthropometric values. 3.With increasing weight, height, nasal length, nose lateral length and the vertical groove lenght on the surface of the upper lip, logarithmic respiratory resistance values decrease, hence nasal breathing improves.
