Digitālā komunikācija pēdējās desmitgadēs kļūst aizvien nozīmīgāka. Neskatoties uz to, ka daži pētījumi par valodu tīmekļa vietnēs un digitālo saziņu jau ir veikti, joprojām ir daudz jautājumu, kurus nepieciešams izpētīt. Šī darba mērķis bija analizēt Eiropas Savienības oficiālo tīmekļa vietni no lingvistikas viedokļa. Darba izstrādē izmantotas sekojošas pētījuma metodes: literatūras apskats, lingvistiskā analīze, kvalitatīvā izpēte, hermeneitika un semiotiskā analīze. Pētījuma rezultāti parādīja, ka Eiropas Savienības tīmekļa vietnei ir divi mērķi, pirmais – tikt izlasītai: informēt, izglītot vai izklaidēt, un otrais – rosināt uz rīcību. Tika secināts, ka atgriezeniskā saite tiek pastāvīgi veicināta Eiropas Savienības oficiālajā tīmekļa vietnē. Despite the fact that some research about the language of websites and digital communication has been carried out there are still plenty of matters to be examined. The goal of the research is to study the official website of the European Union from linguistic perspective. The following research methods were used in the paper: literature review, linguistic analysis, qualitative research, hermeneutics and semiotic analysis. The results of the research showed that the website of the European Union has two purposes, first, to be read: to inform, educate or entertain and, second, to be acted upon. It is concluded that the feedback on the official website of the European Union is constantly encouraged.
