By exercising the constitutional rights to freedom of expression and the important role in democratic society, each day the mass media publishes articles and photos, as well as transmits broadcasts on television and radio about topical events. These activities often affects the elements of the rights to privacy, such as rights to image, therefore the issue between the limits of the mass media rights to freedom of expression and the rights of a person to prevent excessive mass media interference in his rights of privacy is topical. The author of this master’s thesis will research the conflict between the mass media rights to expression of freedom and the person’s rights to his privacy by analyzing the rules and conditions that must be taken into account when balancing the person’s rights to his image and the mass media rights to freedom of expression and by revealing cases when excessive right to image and right to freedom of expression limitation can be detected.
