Latvijas un ārvalstu studējošo priekšstati par akadēmisko bibliotēku un no tiem izrietošā studējošo uzvedība: Rīgas Stradiņa universitātes piemērs

Abstract

Maģistra darba temats ir „Latvijas un ārvalstu studējošo priekšstati par akadēmisko bibliotēku un no tiem izrietošā studējošo uzvedība: Rīgas Stradiņa universitātes piemērs”. Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot un salīdzināt RSU Latvijas un ārvalstu studējošo priekštatus par bibliotēku un no tiem izrietošo studējošo uzvedību bibliotēkā. Maģistra darba teorētisko pamatojumu veido konstruktīvisma un mentālo modeļu teorijas. Datu ieguvei tika izmantota anketēšana, fokusgrupu diskusijas, daļēji strukturētās intervijas. Pēc pētījuma rezultātiem var secināt, ka Latvijas un ārvalstu studējošo priekštati ir atšķirīgi: Latvijas studējošo vidu dominējošais priekštats par bibliotēku ir saistīts ar grāmatām, ārvalsts studējošo – ar mācībām. Latvijas un ārvalstu studējošo uzvedība bibliotēka dažos gadījumos ir atšķirīga, jo saistīta ar šo grupu priekšstatiem par bibliotēku un no tiem izrietošās bibliotēkas izmantošanas paradumiem.

The aim of the research “Latvian and Foreign Students’ Concepts of an Academic Library and Their Impact on the Students’ Behaviour: The Case of Riga Stradins University” is to describe and compare Latvian and foreign students’ concepts of an academic library, and the resulting behaviour in the library. The theoretical basis of the research includes the following theories: constructivism and the mental model theory. For obtaining the data the following methods were used: a survey, a focus group discussion, semi-structured interviews. The research results allow the author to conclude that Latvian and foreign students’ concepts of an academic library are different: Latvian students tend to associate a library with books, while foreign students – with studies in general. Latvian and foreign students’ behaviour in the library in some cases is also different, because it is related to their concepts of an academic library and the resulting habits of using such libraries.
