Abstract

Šī maģistra darba tēma ir „Maigās un stingrās varas instrumentu izmantošana cīņā pret terorismu Francijā kopš 2015. gada”. Pētījuma mērķis ir noteikt Francijas pretterorisma pieeju raksturojošās iezīmes un attīstības tendences kopš 2015. gada, pārbaudot, kāda loma tajā bijusi maigās un stingrās varas instrumentiem. Maģistra darbā izvirzītā hipotēze ir: Francijas pretterorisma darbībās kopš 2015. gada dominē stingrajai varai raksturīgi instrumenti. Pētījuma teorētiskajā daļā definēti terorisma, maigās un stingrās varas jēdzieni, kā arī raksturota mūsdienu terorisma iedaba. Empīriskajā daļā apkopoti un analizēti dati par musulmaņu kopienas statusu un integrāciju Francijas sabiedrībā, radikalizācijas iemesliem un Francijas pretterorisma darbībām. Pētījuma gaitā izmantotas un analizētas mediju publikācijas, politikas dokumenti un pretterorisma pētnieku zinātniskie raksti. Noslēgumā izdarīti secinājumi par maigās un stingrās varas instrumentu izmantojuma tendencēm Francijas pretterorisma politikā kopš 2015. gada.

The topic of this Master’s thesis is „The use of soft and hard power instruments in France’s fight against terrorism since 2015”. The aim of the study is to identify the characteristics and trends of the French approach to counter-terrorism since 2015 by examining the role of soft and hard power. The hypothesis of the Master’s thesis is: since 2015, hard power instruments prevail in France’s counter-terrorism activities. The theoretical part of this study gives an insight into the concepts of terrorism, soft and hard power and describes the nature of modern terrorism. The empirical research phase consists of collected and analyzed data on the status and integration of the Muslim community in French society, the causes of radicalization and French counter-terrorism activities. Media publications, policy papers and counter-terrorism research articles have been used and analysed for the purpose of research. Final conclusions drawn from this research concern the trends in the use of soft and hard power instruments in French counter-terrorism policy since 2015.
