Uzvārdu maiņa Latvijā 20.gs. sākumā (1921.-1927.g.)

Abstract

Vēsturiskās onomastikas maģistra darba „Uzvārdu maiņa Latvijā 20. gs. sākumā (1921–1927)” mērķis ir apzināt un analizēt laika posmā no 1921. gada līdz 1927. gadam mainītos uzvārdus, noskaidrot to daudzumu un etimoloģiski semantiskās grupas, izmantojot koncentrēto personvārdu klasifikāciju, lai izprastu uzvārdu maiņas tendences. Veicot pētījumu, ir apkopots noteiktā laika posma uzvārdu maiņu saraksts, kas izmantojams tālākai pētniecībai. Apzinot apstrādātos datus, ir izpētīts, ka biežāk mainīti faunas semantikas uzvārdi, bet, izvēloties jaunos uzvārdus, dota priekšroka floras un fizioģeogrāfiskas semantikas personvārdiem, tādējādi var secināt, ka vairāki faunas semantikas, kā arī personu raksturojošas semantikas uzvārdi uzskatīti par nevēlamiem, pat aizskarošiem. Šajā laikaposmā 224 personas mainījušas svešas izcelsmes uzvārdu pret latvisku, tomēr nav retums, kad izvēlējās jauno svešas cilmes personvārdu.

The aim of the historical onomastics master’s thesis “The Change of Surnames in Latvia at the Beginning of the 20th Century (1921–1927)” is to identify and analyse the surnames changed during 1921-1927, establish their quantity and etymological semantic categories using the concentrated surnames classification in order to understand the tendencies of surname change. During the research a list of surnames (that were changed in the according time period) was made for further studies. Analysing gathered data was concluded that most often were changed surnames of fauna semantics, but new surnames more often were chosen from flora and physiogeographic semantics, therefore it can be concluded that fauna semantics and surnames characterizing the person (of nickname origin) surnames were considered less preferred. During this time, 224 persons changed their foreign surname to Latvian, but it is not uncommon to choose a new foreign name as well.
