Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt tēvu iesaistes bērnu aprūpē saistību ar kompetences izjūtu zīdaiņu tēviem. Pētījuma jautājums bija: Vai tēva iesaiste bērna aprūpē ir saistīta ar kompetences izjūtu zīdaiņu tēviem? Pētījumā piedalījās 131 respondents, vecumā no 21 līdz 55 gadiem (M = 32,4, SD = 5,77.), kuram ir bērns zīdaiņa vecumā līdz vienam gadam. 89 tēviem zīdaiņa vecuma bērns bija pirmais bērns ģimenē. Mērījumiem tika izmantoti sekojoši instrumenti: Vecāku kompetences izjūtas skala (Parenting sense of competence scale, Johnston & Mash, 1989) un Tēvu iesaistes zīdaiņu aprūpē pašnovērtējuma skala (PIWIS, Paternal Involvement with infants Scale, Singley, Cole, Hammer, Molloy, Rowell, Isacco, 2017.) Pētījuma rezultāti parāda, ka tēvu iesaiste zīdaiņu aprūpē pozitīvi saistās ar vecāku kompetences izjūtu. Tēvu iesaistes zīdaiņu aprūpē komponenti attiecību siltums un atsaucība; pozitīvā iesaiste; kā arī kontrole un atbildība pozitīvi saistās ar vecāku kompetences izjūtas komponentu efektivitāte. The aim of the research was to explore the involvement of fathers in the care of children and its relationship with parental sense of competence. The question of the research was: is father’s involvement in the care of infants related to their parenting sense of competence? 131 participants took part in the research, aged from 21 to 55 (M = 32,4, SD = 5,77), whose child was in the age from early infancy to one year old.It was the first child in the family to 89 of the fathers. There were two measurements used in the research: Parenting sense of competence scale, Johnston & Mash, 1989, PIWIS, Paternal Involvement with infants Scale, Singley, Cole, Hammer, Molloy, Rowell, Isacco, 2017. The results of the research show that father’s involvement in the care of infants is positively connected with the feeling of parents competence. The components of Father’s involvement in the care of infants scale Warmth and Attunement; Control and Process Responsibility; Positive Engagement is positively connected with parenting sense of competence component efficiency.
