Abstract
Diplomdarba tēma ir “Korupcijas ietekme uz valsti un tās ekonomiku”. Tēma tika izvēlēta tādēļ, ka korupcijai tiek pievērsta arvien lielāka uzmanība ne tikai Latvijā, bet arī visā pasaulē. Korupcijas izskaušanas nozīmīgums bieži netiek pienācīgi novērtēts, tās latentās dabas dēļ, tāpēc ir nepieciešams to aktualizēt plašākā mērogā. Korupcijai piemīt būtiskas negatīvas sociālas, politiskas un ekonomiskas sekas, kā arī tā degradē valstiskuma morālo nozīmi sabiedrībā. Visā pasaulē, tiek veikti korupcijas ierobežojoši un mazinoši pasākumi, tādēļ diplomdarba mērķis ir empīriski pierādīt korupcijas ietekmi uz valsts dažādajiem attīstības un labklājības rādītājiem, kā arī, balstoties uz iegūtajiem rezultātiem, izstrādāt priekšlikumus korupcijas novēršanai. Lai sasniegtu uzstādīto mērķi, diplomdarbs sastāv no trīs nodaļām. Pirmajā nodaļā tiek apskatīta korupcijas teorētiskā būtība, tās dažādās izpausmes un korupcijas mērīšana un metodoloģija. Nodaļas ietvaros tiek novērtēts korupcijas līmenis pasaulē un tās reģionos. Otrajā nodaļā, ar zinātniskās literatūras analīzes palīdzību, tiek noskaidroti korupcijas cēloņi un sekas. Trešajā nodaļā autors izstrādā vairākus regresijas analīzes modeļus, kas pierāda korupcijas ietekmi uz valsts iedzīvotāju labklājību, kontrolējot dažādus citus valsts attīstības raksturojošus rādītājus. Darba kopējais apjoms ir 71 lapaspuse.
The diploma paper theme is “The Influence of Corruption on the Country and its Economy”. The topic was chosen due to the fact that corruption gains more attention not only in Latvia, but also in the whole world. The importance of eradicating corruption is often underestimated due to its latent nature, therefore it is necessary to raise the issue on a larger scale. Corruption has significant negative social, political and economic consequences as well as it degrades moral importance of statehood in society. Anti-corruption measures are being implemented all over the world, therefore the purpose of the diploma paper is to empirically demonstrates the impact of corruption on various country’s development and prosperity indicators and based on the results obtained, develop proposals for preventing corruption. In order to reach the goal the bachelor thesis consists of three main parts. First part examines theoretical bases of corruption, its various manifestations and its measurement and methodology. The chapter also assesses the level of corruption in the world and its regions. In the second part, by scientific literature analysis, the causes and consequences of corruptions are examined. In the third part author develops several regression analysis models, that demonstrates the impact of corruption on the welfare of the country’s population by controlling various other country’s development indicators. The volume of thesis is 71 pages.
