Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot Latvijas audžuvecāku uztverto atbalstu, zināšanas par bērnu attīstību unaudžuvecāku audzināšanas pieeju, to raksturojošos rādītājus un šo mainīgo savstarpējās saistības. Pētījumā piedalījās 42audžuvecākivecumā no 29 līdz 64 gadiem (M=46; SD=9,56), kuri audžuvecāka pienākumus veic vismaz gadu un kuru aprūpē ir vismaz viens pirmsskolas vecuma bērns. Instrumentārijs: Zināšanu par bērnu attīstību aptauja – pirmskolas versija (KIDI -P) (Knowledge of infant Development Inventory – P, MacPhee, 1981); Gentas audzināšanas skala (Ghent Parental Behaviour Scale, Leeuwen, Vermulst, Kroes, Meyer, 2004); Sajustā sociālā atbalsta aptauja (The multidimensional Scales of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), Zimet et al., 1988). The aim of this study was to examine Latvian fosterparents` perceived social support, knowledge about children development, parenting behavior and foster parents` characteristics and correlations between these variables. In this study participated 42 foster parents from age 29 to 64 (M=46; SD=9,56), who work as foster parent at least a year and who have at least one foster child in preschool age. Knowledge of infant Development Inventory – P, (MacPhee, 1981); Ghent Parental Behaviour Scale (Leeuwen, Vermulst, Kroes, Meyer, 2004) and The multidimensional Scales of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) (Zimet et al., 1988) were used in the study. The results show that there exist statistically significant corelations between parental behaviours, percieved social support, knowledge of child development and foster parent`s charecteristics. Knowledge of child development show positive corelation with perceived social support from out-of family support centers and foster parents` charecteristics.
