Centrētības lūgšana

Abstract

Maģistra darbs "Centrētības lūgšana" apskata un analizē centrētības lūgšanas praksi un teoloģiju. Lai arī centrētības lūgšana tiek pozicionēta kā kristīga, tomēr tās prakses un teoloģijas formulējumi raisa jautājumus par iespējamo mijiedarbību ar Austrumu reliģijām. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt un noskaidrot, vai centrētības lūgšanas prakse un teoloģija kristietībā ienes kontrastējošus elementus no budisma un hinduisma meditācijas praksēm un reliģiskajām mācībām. Darba rezultāti parāda, ka centrētības lūgšanas teoloģija, kas pārstāv monismu (ontoloģisku neduālismu), nav savienojama ar kristīgu teoloģiju, kas, savukārt, pārstāv monoteismu (ontoloģisku duālismu). Attiecībā uz praksi, centrētības lūgšanai ir divas puses jeb metodikas. Tai ir kristīgā puse, kas ir kā viena vārda lūgšanas metode, un tai ir nekristīgā puse, kas jau aktīvajā (nemistiskajā) līmenī darbojas pēc Austrumu meditācijām raksturīgās metodes — apzināta sevis iztukšošana, nepieķeroties domām un psiholoģiskajai norisei, lai tādējādi izprastu realitātes īstenību.

This Master’s thesis, "Centering prayer", looks at and analyzes the praxis and theology of centering prayer. Although centering prayer is positioned as Christian, its formulations of praxis and theology raises questions about possible correlation with Eastern religions. The aim of the thesis is to study and find out whether the praxis and theology of centering prayer in Christianity brings contrasting elements from the meditation practices and religious teachings of Hinduism and Buddhism. The results show that the theology of centering prayer, which represents monism (ontological nondualism) is not compatible with traditional Christian doctrine, which in contrast represents monotheism (ontological dualism). In regard to praxis, centering prayer has two sides or methods. It has the Christian side, which is a prayer of one word, and it has the non-Christian side, which already on its active (non-mystical) level works by the usual method of Eastern meditations — conscious self-emptying through detachment from thoughts and psychological processes in order to apprehend the truth of existence.
