The aim of the Bachelor's thesis is to study the process of manor division during the agrarian reform of Latvia - how the land of estates was divided and used economically, how their legal status changed and what consequences were caused by the division of estates using the distribution of Talsi County manors as an example. The agrarian reform (1920-1937) completely changed economy by alienating landlords property and allocating them to the farmers, setting up state farms, giving them to schools or parishes, leaving the former owner. There is no research of manors during agrarian reform, the example of Talsi County gives an idea of the implementation of the reform. The Bachelor's thesis concludes that the national policy goal of alienating land of landlords was implemented, but the economic side of the reform was partly implemented.
