Darbā apskatīta autentiskuma ideja Žana Pola Sartra filozofijā. Norādot uz autentiskuma individuālo un sociālo aspektu jeb indivīda brīvību un šīs brīvības īstenošanu situācijā, risinātas indivīda un sabiedrības savstarpējās attiecības. Tajās indivīds īsteno savu individuālo brīvību sociālā kontekstā, tajā pašā laikā sevi apzinoties un definējot caur šo kontekstu. Pievēršoties autentiskuma nosacījumiem, kas ir prasība apzināties situāciju, uzņemties atbildību un atzīt citu brīvību, izvērsta autentiskas eksistences iespēja starp citiem, kas balstītos brīvības savstarpējā atzīšanā. Tādējādi autentiskums uzlūkojams kā ētisks ideāls. Turklāt, tā kā indivīds vienmēr atrodas konkrētā situācijā un nav iespējams norādīt uz autentiskas izvēles saturu, atklājas, ka autentiskums ir eksistences princips, kas indivīdam jāīsteno. Thesis focuses on the idea of authenticity in Jean-Paul Sartre’s philosophy. Drawing on individual and social aspect of authenticity or individual’s freedom and realization of it, the relation between individual and society is addressed. An individual realizes his individual freedom in social context while defining himself through this context. Regarding the conditions of authenticity which are an obligation to be aware of situation, to take responsibility and to recognize freedom of others, the possibility of authentic existence among others that is founded in mutual recognition is stated. Accordingly, authenticity is an ethical ideal. Moreover, since an individual is always in the situation and it is impossible to indicate the content of an authentic choice, it is revealed that authenticity is a principle of existence that individual must realize.
