The objective of this doctoral thesis is to investigate the reciprocal relations of I and We by virtue of phenomenological method, in order to maintain transcendentally founded substructures of meaning in the social word which plays an important role for self-reflection (Selbststimmung) and furthermore encourages the existential struggle for persons authenticity (Eigentlichkeit). The thesis aims to reveal the genesis of self-reflection by examining it within the context of constitution of time-consciousness. To reveal a type of the most significant doctrine of time, this thesis deals with St.Augustines profoundly theological understanding of time. His ideas were later resorted to by E.Husserl and integrated in his phenomenology as the key-concept for the constitution of meaning at individual and social level (undergoing a remarkable transformation by M.Heidegger and E.Finks afterwards).
Transcendentally phenomenological analysis of self-reflection leads outside the sphere of ego and reveals its essentia; connection to its neighbors (E.Husserl). This introduces and approbates the we-relation. Thus the theme of intersubjectivity touches upon the life-word (Lebenswelt) and leads into the realm to of social word and to its phenomenology (A.Schutz). The thesis considers how subjective knowledge becomes embodied in the social stock of knowledge and how they both relate to each other. It allows to infer that by description and scientific investigation of social word and its structure the phenomenological method is essential because of its most significant reflections on reciprocal relations between transcendental and mundane spheres. Thus the transcendental phenomenology gives an adequate esplanation for a meaninhful construction of the social word, and supports the dialogue and empathy in the process of mutual understending as a result of seccessfully completed intersubjectivity.
