The subject of the graduation paper is “Postmodernism as an appearance in graphic design”. The purpose of this paper is to create a version of the novel “Animal Farm” by George Orwell on the basis of theoretical and empirical study along with the utilization of artistic means of expression that are inherent in those of post-modernism graphic design. In the theoretical part of the paper, the concepts of post-modernism in art, different styles of art (Bauhaus, dadaism) that inspired post-modernism are described. Moreover, postmodernism in graphic design, namely, New Wave movement and activities of the Memphis Group designers are detailed and emphasized. In the empirical part of the paper, the visual analysis of design models typical to postmodernism is conducted. By using both, a theoretical and an empirical approach, the paper accomplishes the desired idea of the subject. As a result, artistic means of expression typical to postmodernism have been ascertained. The objective of the work is achieved — a version of the novel “Animal Farm”, using the methods of post-modernism graphic design.
