Diplomdarba tēma ir “Postmodernisms kā parādība grafikas dizainā”. Balstoties uz teorētisku un empīrisku pētījumu, darba mērķis ir izveidot maketu Džordža Orvela romānam “Dzīvnieku ferma”, izmantojot postmodernisma grafikas dizainam raksturīgus mākslinieciskās izteiksmes līdzekļus. Teorētiskajā daļā aprakstīts postmodernisma jēdziens mākslā, mākslas stili, kas iedvesmojuši postmodernismu (Bauhaus, dadaisms), postmodernisma izpausme grafikas dizainā – Jaunā viļņa (New wave) kustība un Memfisas grupas dizaineru darbība. Lai veiksmīgi realizētu darba mērķi, darba empīriskajā daļā tika veikta postmodernismam raksturīgu dizaina paraugu vizuāla analīze. Rezultātā tika noskaidroti postmodernismam tipiski mākslinieciskās izteiksmes līdzekļi. Rezultātā tika sasniegts bakalaura darba mērķis – izveidots makets Džordža Orvela romānam “Dzīvnieku ferma”, izmantojot postmodernisma grafikas dizaina stilistiku. The subject of the graduation paper is “Postmodernism as an appearance in graphic design”. The purpose of this paper is to create a version of the novel “Animal Farm” by George Orwell on the basis of theoretical and empirical study along with the utilization of artistic means of expression that are inherent in those of post-modernism graphic design. In the theoretical part of the paper, the concepts of post-modernism in art, different styles of art (Bauhaus, dadaism) that inspired post-modernism are described. Moreover, postmodernism in graphic design, namely, New Wave movement and activities of the Memphis Group designers are detailed and emphasized. In the empirical part of the paper, the visual analysis of design models typical to postmodernism is conducted. By using both, a theoretical and an empirical approach, the paper accomplishes the desired idea of the subject. As a result, artistic means of expression typical to postmodernism have been ascertained. The objective of the work is achieved — a version of the novel “Animal Farm”, using the methods of post-modernism graphic design.
