Latgales apdzīvoto vietu nosaukumu standartizācija

Abstract

Doktora disertācijā „Latgales apdzīvoto vietu nosaukumu standartizācija” pētītas un izvērtētas Latgales apdzīvoto vietu nosaukumu kā nozīmīgas kultūras mantojuma daļas aizsardzības iespējas nacionālās standartizācijas ietvaros, pētīti vietvārdi kā cilvēka un vides mijiedarbības atspoguļotāji. Darbā kā etalonteritorijas izmantoti Daugavpils rajona Latgales daļa un Balvu rajons. Vietvārdu materiāls savākts un pārbaudīts laikā no 1990. līdz 2007. gadam ekspedīcijās Daugavpils un Balvu rajonā. Ciemu nosaukumi pētīti un izvērtēti, lai nepieļautu kļūdainu vietvārdu lietošanu. Autore secina, ka Latgales ciemu nosaukumu atveide latgaliešu valodā sekmēs latgaliešu valodas saglabāšanu, aizsardzību un attīstību, kā to nosaka Valsts valodas likums. Disertācijai pievienota Daugavpils rajona Latgales daļas karte (M 1:50 000) un Balvu rajona karte (M 1:50 000) ar ciemu nosaukumiem latgaliešu valodā.

The doctoral dissertation Standardization of names of populated places of Latgale investigates and evaluates the possibilities to safeguard the geographical names of Latgale as an important part of the cultural heritage in the framework of national standardization and explores the interplay between man and nature as reflected in the place names. The place names of the Latgalian part of Daugavpils district and Balvi district have been used as examples. In general, the place names material has been collected and checked from 1990 up to 2007 during numerous expeditions in the Daugavpils and Balvi districts. The village names have been investigated, evaluated to avoid the use of incorrect place names. The author concludes that by rendering the village names of Latgale in Latgalian – in accordance with the State Language Law – the maintenance, protection, and development of the Latgalian language will be promoted. The dissertation is supplemented by the map (scale 1:50 000) of the Latgalian part of Daugavpils district and the map of Balvi district (scale 1:50 000) with the place names in Latgalian.
