Latvijas pamatizglītības kvalitātes starptautiskas novērtēšanas rezultāti un analīze kā informatīvā bāze izglītības vadības lēmumu pieņemšanai

Abstract

Promocijas darba „Latvijas pamatizglītības kvalitātes starptautiskas novērtēšanas rezultāti un analīze kā informatīvā bāze izglītības vadības lēmumu pieņemšanai” mērķis ir, veicot pētījumu OECD Starptautiskās skolēnu novērtēšanas programmas ietvaros un pamatojoties uz starptautiski atzītu salīdzinošo izglītības pētījumu konceptuālo modeli, noteikt Latvijas pamatizglītības kvalitātes līmeni matemātikā, lasīšanā un dabaszinātnēs, analizēt tā atkarību no dažādiem Latvijas izglītības sistēmu, skolu un skolēnu raksturojošiem faktoriem. Rezultātu analīzes gaitā iegūta objektīva informācija par Latvijas pamatizglītības kvalitāti starptautiskā un nacionālā salīdzinājumā, noteikti skolēnu sasniegumus ietekmējošie faktori, kā arī analizētas pamatskolēnu biežāk izmantotās mācīšanās stratēģijas un skolēnu vēlme saistīt savu nākotnes karjeru ar dabaszinātnēm, veikta OECD SSNP matemātikas uzdevumu satura un Latvijas valsts pamatizglītības matemātikas standarta satura salīdzinoša analīze. Balstoties uz iegūto informatīvo bāzi, izstrādāti ieteikumi izglītības politiķiem, pašvaldību vadītājiem, skolu direktoriem un skolotājiem pamatizglītības kvalitātes paaugstināšanai Latvijā.

The aim of the doctoral thesis „Results and analysis of the international assessment of the quality of basic education of Latvia as the informative basis for making education management decisions” is to define the level of the quality of basic education in mathematics, reading and science on the basis of the study carried out in the OECD Programme for International Student Assessment and on the basis of the conceptual model, which has been internationally recognized, to analyze the dependence of this level of the quality of education in Latvia on different factors that characterize the education system of Latvia, schools and students. The analysis of the results provided objective information about the quality of the basic education of Latvia in the international and national comparison; the factors influencing students’ achievement have been defined and the learning strategies used more frequently by the basic school students have been analyzed as well as the students’ desire to link their future career with science; the comparative analysis of the OECD PISA content of the mathematical tasks and the content of the National Basic Education Standard of Mathematics, the Republic of Latvia, has been performed. Recommendations for education policy makers, the heads of local municipalities, school principals and teachers have been developed on the basis of the obtained informative basis in order to increase the quality of basic education in Latvia.
