Augstākās izglītības konkurences vide, ekonomiskā efektivitāte un valsts ekonomiskā izaugsme

Abstract

Valda Rocēna promocijas darba „Augstākās izglītības konkurences vide, ekonomiskā efektivitāte un valsts ekonomiskā izaugsme” mērėis ir augstākās izglītības iestāžu savstarpējās konkurences saistības ar augstākās izglītības ekonomisko efektivitāti un valsts ekonomisko izaugsmi izvērtējums. Pētījums balstās uz P.Romera ekonomikas endogēnās izaugsmes teoriju un M.Portera konkurences piecu spēku modeli. Darbā ir mērīta konkurence augstākajā izglītībā, veicot starptautisku ekspertvērtējumu un augstskolu personāla aptauju. Ir pierādīts, ka valstīs ar augstāku konkurences līmeni, augstākās izglītības ekonomiskā efektivitāte ir augstāka un valsts ekonomiskā izaugsme ir straujāka. Darbā ir identificēti apstākĜi, kas ierobežo konkurenci starp augstskolām Latvijā. Darba apjoms ir 185 lapas bez pielikumiem, tajā ir 18 tabulas un 24 attēli. Darbā ir dots 158 izmantoto avotu saraksts, un tam ir pievienoti 13 pielikumi uz 24 lapām. Atslēgvārdi: augstākā izglītība, konkurence, izglītības efektivitāte, ekonomiskā izaugsme.

The goal of Valdis Rocens’s thesis „Competitive Environment in Higher Education, Economic Efficiency and National Economic Growth” is the assessment of the correlation between the competition among the institutions of higher education, the economic efficiency of higher education and the states’ economic growth. The research is based on P.Romer’s economic endogenous growth theory and M.Porter’s competition five forces model. In the thesis, there has been measured the competition in higher education, carried out an evaluation by international experts and a university staff survey. There has been established that in the countries with higher level of competition the economic efficiency of higher education is higher and the state’s economic growth is faster. In the thesis there have been identified the conditions that restrict competition among the institutions of higher education in Latvia. The amount of thesis is 185 pages without appendices, there are 18 tables and 24 pictures. The thesis includes the list of 158 sources used, as well as 13 appendices on 24 pages.
