The BA paper is devoted to the dramatization of literary works of D. Kharms. The research material is Vladislav Nastavshev’s performance “The Old Woman” at the National Theater of Latvia. It is based on a novella “The Old Woman” by D. Kharms, as well as the writer’s other prose and dramatic works of the 1930s. The author analyzes the theatrical interpretation in several aspects, revealing the differences between the original text and the theatrical interpretation. The study can be relevant for philologists who are interested in stage adaptations of literary works, as well as for theatre scholars who study modern drama.
