Šajā maģistra darbā aplūkoti eponīmi medicīnas tekstos. Pētījuma mērķis bija apskatīt medicīnas tekstos sastopamos eponīmus un raksturot to rašanās veidus un iespējamos sinonīmos variantus. Aplūkotie teorētiskie materiāli aplūko eponīma definīcijas un vārddarināšanas paņēmienus, ar kuriem īpašvārds kļūst par eponīmu, kā arī raksturo eponīmus medicīnas terminoloģijā un to iespējamās tulkošanas problēmas. Mērķa sasniegšanai tika izmantota jaukta kvalitatīvā un kvantitatīvā metode. Tika apkopoti 200 eponīmi, un tika analizēti to etimoni un to skaits, izmantotie vārddarināšanas paņēmieni. Pētījuma laikā tika secināts, ka visbiežāk izmantotā vārddarināšanas metode bija sintaktiski semantiska deonimizācija ar analītisku leksēmu un eponīma darināšanā visbiežāk izmanto antroponīmus. The present Master`s Thesis investigates eponyms in medical texts. The aim of this research was to analyse the eponyms in medical texts and the word formation methods used in derivation and the possible synonymous eponyms. The primary research of the thesis overviews the way how eponyms are defined, what word formation methods are used to create an eponym, and characterizes eponyms in medical terminology, and the possible translation problems. Mixed methodology was used to achieve the aim of this research. 200 eponyms were gathered and analysed by the proper nouns and their number, and the word formation method that was used. It was concluded that the most frequently used word formation method was a syntactic and semantic deonymization with a modifying lexeme, and anthroponyms were used most often to form eponyms.
