Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt patenttiesību pamatojuma teorijas un analizēt spēkā esošo patenttiesību sistēmu
dažādo teoriju skatījumā. Pētījums iedalīts trīs daļās. Pirmā nodaļa veltīta patenttiesību vēsturiskās
evolūcijas izpētei. Otrā nodaļa analizē dažādās patenttiesību pamatojuma teorijas. Trešā nodaļa cenšas
izmantot patenttiesību pamatojuma teorijas, izpētot atsevišķu patenttiesību jautājumu tiesiskā regulējuma
īpatnības un iesējas tiesisko regulējumu pilnveidot, noskaidrojot, kuras patenttiesību pamatojuma teorijas
ir piemērotas pastāvošajai patenttiesību izpratnei, izvērtējot Latvijas patenta pieteikuma procedūru
patenttiesību pamatojuma teoriju skatījumā un analizējot zinātnisko institūciju pētniecības rezultātu

The aim of the study is to examine the patent justification theories, and analyze the existing patent system
from the perspective of these theories. The study is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is
devoted to the historical evolution of patent law. The second chapter analyzes the different theories of
patent justification. The third chapter seeks to use the patent justification theories when examining certain
features of current patent law and the possibilities to improve the legal framework by identifying, which
patent justification theories support the existing understanding of patent law, assessing the Latvian patent
application procedure from the perspective of justification theories of patents, and analyzing patenting of
research results at public research organizations.
