The aim of the bachelor's thesis “Use of Archetypes in Advertising: The Analysis of 2019 Global Creative Advertising and Design Association “D&AD” Award Winning Ads in the Branding and Creativity for Good Categories” is to determine which archetypes of the concept of collective unconsciousness are used in the construction of the message of award-winning advertisements, taking into account the importance of the visual aspect in the formation of an emotional story. In addition, the views of creative directors, advertising students and consumers on the use of archetypes and their elements to facilitate brand identification will be sought. In the theoretical part, the first chapter is devoted to the concept of creativity, which is an important aspect in the creation of unique advertising materials, achieving effective consumer attraction. Creative thinking is based on visual communication, which is described in the second chapter from an advertising perspective. The next chapter is devoted to the processes of brand personality creation, followed by a description of the theory of collective unconsciousness, which evokes strong, universal memories guided by the archetypes defined in Chapter Five. The research methodology consists of methods such as quantitative content analysis, semi-structured and focus group interviews. Although people's experiences are different, the archetypes depicted in advertisements can be collectively identified and defined. Archetypes as images and elements in the advertising mood play an important role in constructing the message and creating a strong brand personality, promoting the ability to create relevant links and internal dialogue with the consumer.
