The aim of the master's thesis “Consumption of Regional Newspapers and Municipal Informative Newsletters and Their Compliance with the Audience's Expectations: Case Studies of Ogre, Tukums, Talsi, Rēzekne and Ķekava counties” is to find out the consumption of regional newspapers and municipal informative newsletters in the five largest counties of Latvia by population. The theoretical basis of the work is based on the theory of media ecology, regional newspapers, a summary of municipal informative newsletters and the theory of use and satisfaction. The research methodology consists of three research methods - interviews, survey and secondary data analysis. Research results indicate that most of the residents consume both regional newspapers and municipal informative publications in order to obtain information about what is happening in the region and socially interact with others. However, regional newspapers and municipal informative newsletters are unable to meet all the needs of the readers.
