Abstract

Darba temats ir “Vardarbības atspoguļojums seriālā “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story”. Pētījuma mērķis ir atsegt veidus, kā vardarbība atspoguļota seriālā “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” un kā auditorija vērtē šādu saturu. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek aplūkota vardarbība medijos un televīzijā, literatūra par mediju efektiem, kā arī pētāmā objekta raksturojums. Metodoloģijā apskatīta gan kontentanalīzes, gan semiotiskās analīzes, gan arī fokusa grupas diskusijas teorētiskie aspekti. Pētījuma dizainā izskaidrota pētījuma veikšanas gaita. Empīriskajā daļā, izmantojot iepriekšminētās metodes, veikta seriālā atspoguļotās vardarbības izpēte, kā arī diskusijas starp mediju lietotājiem. Empīriskais pētījums atklāj, ka seriālā ir daudz atklātu vardarbību ainu, kurām netiek parādītas nekādas sekas. Ir daļa auditorijas, kurai šāds saturs ir pievilcīgs. The topic of the bachelor thesis is “Depiction of Violence in TV Series “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story”. The aim of the study is to unfold ways, how violence is shown in the series “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” and to learn, how the audience evaluates it. Media and television violence, literature about media effects and the characteristics of the object of the study is explained in the theoretical part of the study. Theoretical aspects of content analysis, semiotical analysis and focus group discussion are characterized in the part of methodology. The course of the research is explained in the design of the study. Using the previously mentioned methods, a research has been done on the depiction of violence and also a discussion between audience has taken place. Empirical study shows that there are many violent scenes in the series, but there are no consequences shown. There is a part of audience that finds violence alluring.
