Latvijas sūtniecība ASV 1922.-1925.g.: saikne ar latviešu kopienu

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs ir veltīts Latvijas starpkaru perioda ārpolitikas un latviešu kopienas darbības izpētei divdesmitā gadsimta divdesmito gadu pirmajā pusē. Darba mērķis ir analizēt Latvijas pārstāvniecības ASV darbību, un tās saistību ar latviešu kopienu ASV, kā arī raksturot latviešu kopienas ASV darbību, lielākās kopienas izveidotās organizācijas, kā arī konstatēt, kāda bija kopienas nozīme kopējo Latvijas un ASV attiecību kontekstā. Darba hronoloģiskais ietvars ir no 1922. gada 28. jūlija, kad Amerikas Savienotās Valstis Latviju atzina de iure, līdz 1925. gada 24. novembrim, kad Ministru kabinets Latvijas konsulu Ņujorkā Artūru Ļūļi iecēla par ģenerālkonsulu, kas izraisīja Latvijas pārstāvniecības ASV juridiskā statusa maiņu.

The Bachelor’s thesis is devoted to the research of Latvia’s foreign policy and the activities of the Latvian community in the interwar period. The aim of the research is to analyse the activity of the Latvian representation in the United States and its connection to the Latvian community in the United States, and to describe the activities of the Latvian community in the United States, and to indentify the role played by the community in the context of the overall relations between Latvia and the United States. The chronological framework of the thesis is from 28 July 1922, when the United States of America recognised Latvia de iure, until 24 November 1925, when the Cabinet of Ministers appointed the Latvian consul in New York, Artūrs Ļūļe, as consul general, which led to a change in the legal status of the representation of Latvia in the United States.
