Promocijas darbs izstrādāts Latvijas Universitātes Juridiskajā fakultātē no 2006. – 2012. gadam. Darba mērķis ir pierādīt tiesību normu efektivitātes pētniecības aktualitāti un nepieciešamību Latvijā un veicināt tiesību socioloģijas attīstību Latvijā, papildinot diskusiju par tiesību normu novērtēšanu.
Vadoties no izvirzītā mērķa, darbu veido pieci pētniecības virzieni, kas secīgi izklāstīti piecās darba nodaļās. Darbā pētīta tiesību normu efektivitātes jēdziena izcelsme, nozīme, pielietojums nacionālajās tiesībās un tiesību teorijā, kā arī praksē. Darbā attīstīta tiesību normu efektivitātes kā vispārējā tiesību principa tēze.
Pētījuma rezultātā izvirzītas astoņpadsmit secinājumu un priekšlikumu formā izteiktas tēzes. Darba apjoms ir 265 lappuses. Annotation.

The dissertation has been elaborated in the University of Latvia, Faculty of Law during the time period from 2006 until 2012. The main goal of the dissertation is to prove the actuality and necessity of research of effectiveness of legal norms in Latvia. The objective of the dissertation is also to promote the development of sociology of law in Latvia by encouraging the discussions about evaluation of legal norms.
Following the set aim, the dissertation consists of five directions of research, which have been consequently expounded in five sections. The work examines the origins of the concept ”effectiveness” in law, as well as its use in the national law and legal theory and praxis. The work develops the thesis of effectiveness as a general principle of law.
Eighteen conclusions and suggestions conclude the paper. The dissertation consists of 265 pages.
