KF uzvedība tiek analizēta sociālās identitātes pārvaldības stratēģiju ietvarā, cenšoties noskaidrot, kura no tām tiek piemērota KF ārējās politikas rīcībā trīs sadarbības jomās – militārajā, ekonomiskajā un politiski – diplomātiskajā. Maģistra darbā tiek izvirzīta hipotēze, ka KF ārpolitika Āfrikas kontinentā ir balstīta KF lielvaras statusa politikas apsvērumos, izmantojot sociālās sāncensības un sociālās jaunrades stratēģijas. Darba rezultātā hipotēze tika apstiprināta. The main purpose of this master thesis is to identify whether the Russian Federation’s widely proclaimed "return" to Africa is based on the RF's global status considerations. Therefore, the theoretical framework of the work includes information about the concept of status, social identity theory and identity management strategies. The theoretical part is mainly based on the studies of Deborah Velch Larson, Alexei Shevchenko and Thomas Volgy. The empirical part of the work consists of two parts. The first part analyzes the historical perspective of cooperation between the RF and African countries, while the second part examines current activity of the RF in Africa. The behavior of the RF is analyzed in the framework of social identity management strategies, trying to find out which of them is applied in the foreign policy actions of the RF in three areas of cooperation - military, economic and diplomatic. The hypothesis states that RF’s foreign policy in Africa is based on RF’s status considerations, deploying strategies of social competition and social creativity. The hypothesis was confirmed during the research.
