Zusammenfassung
Use of computers, smartphones, the internet and other technical solutions has become an integral part of many industries. The industry of fine art is no different and technologies inevitably influence artists and other industry representatives. Opportunity to digitalise fine art create new opportunities, and new challenges along with it. A significant amount of the challenges imposed by digitalise are legal - whether it is possible to effectively protect copyrights and what is the most efficient way to do it. Author's most valuable right - reproduction right - is threatened in the digital paradigm because technologies create risks of unauthorized reproduction. The European Union’s copyright legislation aims to ensure effective protection of authors' rights. The nucleus of this research is to analyse whether European Union’s regulatory framework is suitable for novel technologies, thereby allowing artists and other copyright holders to effectively protect their reproduction right and control the copying of their works.
