Darba apjoms – 68 lpp. Atslēgas vārdi: pirmsskolas vecums; intelektuālā un fiziskā attīstība; matemātisko priekšstatu veidošanās; fiziskās aktivitātes. Topic of the bachelor’s thesis: Promotion of creation of mathematical concepts through physical activities in 5 – 6 year old children. Aim of the thesis: to explore and analyze possibilities of creation of mathematical concepts through physical activity of 5 – 6 year-olds in preschool. The paper consists of two parts – a theoretican and an empirical one. The theoretical part of the paper consists of three subdivisions, with a summary and analysis of literature and popular-science and investigatory publications on influence of sports and activities on a child’s overall development. The empirical part of the paper consists of four subdivisions, with successive depiction of research work: it contains a description of the methods used in research, a planned depiction of pedagogic activity with chosen research basis, analysis of the results gained in research as seen in accordance to set criteria as well as a depiction of the aforementioned results in tables and diagramms. Throughout research practical activity proves the hypothesis set in the beginning of the research: physical activity promotes creation of mathematical concepts in 5 – 6 year-old children, if: •The tasks are suitable to children’s age and abilities; •The children are allowed to enjoy versatile games incorporating movement. In the conclusion of the paper the author has drawn conclusions, based on the theoretical and practical part of her research. Structure of the bachelor’s thesis: introduction, two parts, 3 tables, 7 pictures, 4 annexes, 81 sources of the used literature and information (34 of them are in foreign language). Volume of the thesis: 68 pages. Key words: preschool age; intellectual and physical development; formation of mathematical notions; physical activity.
