Diplomdarba ietvaros tika aprobēta un izvērtēta debates metode vidusskolas mācīšanas procesā ģeogrāfijas priekšmeta ietvaros. Debates ir lietderīga un skolēniem saistoša alternatīva klasiskajām ģeogrāfijas stundām, kas dažādo mācību pieejas un stilus. Tika izstrādāti mācību stundu plāni debašu organizēšanai, kā arī tika izstrādāti palīgmateriāli, kurus var izmantot, lai iepazīstinātu skolēnus ar debates metodi. Diplomdarbā izklāstīta autora pieredze un apskatīta debašu ietekme uz skolēnu kritiskās domāšanas spējām un prasmi strādāt komandās. The main goal of the work was to approbate and evaluate the debate in the teaching process of secondary school, within the subject of geography. Today's teachers need to diversify their lesson management methods and the debate seems to be a very interesting alternative to typical lessons with its risks and benefits. For the future use of this method at school, this method was adapted to high school geography lessons during the study. Lesson plans are being developed for how a debate can be organized in secondary school, and support materials are being developed that could be used to introduce students to the debate method. Also, the method of debate is evaluated from different sides, the impact of debate on students' ability to work in teams and critical thinking skills is considered.
