Within this bachelor’s thesis were mastered working principles of Raman spectrometer and skills of measurement process and data analysis for Raman spectra of a material, that way analyzing material properties and its potential uses. Raman spectrums of CVD diamond crystal samples, grown on Si substrate wafers, were measured and compared with each other near and far from microscopic surface spatial defects. The origin of these defects and impact on sample properties were analyzed by position of obtained Raman spectrum bands. Correlation between obtained Raman spectra parameters – band half-width and band position – was studied. Causes of changes in parameters were analyzed. Using Voigt function, diamond sample 1330 cm-1 band parameters were analyzed for Lorentz and Gaussian functions. Obtained results allows to determine optimal experiment conditions to get the natural band half-width of the diamond.
