Šis bakalaura darbs ir veltīts īpašvārda tulkošanai no angļu uz franču valodu fantastikas literatūrā. Darbs sastāv no teorijas izklāsta un īpašvārdu tulkošanas stratēģiju apkopojuma, kā arī no praktiska darba – Dž. K. Roulingas fantastikas grāmatas “Harijs Poters un filozofu akmens” analīzes. Prakstiskās daļas rezultāti pierāda, ka pastāv tulkošanas tendences dažādiem īpašvārdu veidiem. Tulkotājam ir jāņem vērā katra tekstā atrodamā īpašvārda nozīme un ierastais lietojums, kā arī tā vēstures un kultūras apsekti. This Bachelor’s thesis studies the translation of proper nouns from English to French in fantasy literature. The research is made of a theoretical material study on proper nouns and the strategies of their translation, and a practical study of the translation of proper nouns from J. K. Rowling’s fantasy book “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”. The results of the analysis prove that there are patterns in the translation of different types of proper nouns. The translator must think about the meaning and the usage, as well as the historical and cultural aspects of every proper noun present in the text.
