The goal of the study was to find whether there exists a correlation between positive attitude towards child adoption and intention to adopt a child. A new questionnaire was constructed based on the Attitude towards adoption questionnaire ATAQ (Abdollahzadeh et al., 2019) with the intention to separate questions into 3 subscales according to the reasoned action theoretical framework (Fishbein & Ajzen, 2009), namely: behavioral beliefs, normative beliefs and control beliefs. The questionnaire was open for respondents on the internet and was filled out by 77 participants. Analysis of the results shows, that most of the respondents have a positive attitude towards adoption, however a statistically significant correlation between attitude and willingness to adopt was not found, even though 11% of respondents claimed, that they are ready to adopt a child. However, there was an unexpected positive correlation between a positive attitude and willingness to take a positive stance towards adoption in discussions.
