The topic of the dissertation is "The Reflection of The Search for Chinese Identity in The Scar Literature After The Cultural Revolution". It mainly served society as a means to relive the suffering of the Cultural Revolution in order to heal its soul and spirit. The decline of the Scar literature genre is not officially determined. But the stories published in this genre were mostly until about 1981, when the government issued various repressions against the most active writers and other intellectuals. The initial goal of this thesis to look at the genre itself in the process of developing the work was successful. The goal of analyzing Liu Xinwi's story "The Class Teacher" and looking for connections with events and reforms during the Cultural Revolution was also achieved by providing a broader insight into both the events of the time and the way intellectuals, together with the rest of the nation, healed their souls and spirits. However, during the development process, it was concluded that Scar literature was not a way to look for its roots. Scar literature can be considered the beginning of the genre itself, also known as the Root Search genre. It developed in the 1980s after Scar literature had gone underground or went beyond China. It must be concluded that the Scar literature was more a way of expressing its criticism and condemnation of the government and pointing out its mistakes, which in a way indicate a link with politics. It helped to psychologically rehabilitate people's consciousness and recover from the Cultural Revolution, to gather and learn to live with what happened. The research consists of three parts: The Beijing Spring Movement; The concept of Individualism in The Scar literature; Liu Xinwu's biography and work. The total number of pages is 84.
