Bakalaura darba temats “Kriminālsodi nepilngadīgajiem un to mērķis’’ ir aktuāls, jo no 2022. gada 1. janvāra stāsies spēkā 2020. gada 17. decembra “Krimināllikuma Grozījumi’’. “Krimināllikuma Grozījumos” tiek noteikti konkrēti kriminālsodi nepilngadīgajiem. Tiek noteikts, ka pirms konkrētā kriminālsoda piemērošanas ir jāskatās kriminālsoda mērķis, kas ir noteikts Krimināllikuma 35.panta otrajā daļā, bet Krimināllikuma 64. panta trešajā daļā ir noteikts, ka primāra ir nepilngadīgā resocializācija. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt nepilngadīgās personu regulējumu Latvijā un pasaulē, tiek analizēts kriminālsoda jēdzienu, analizēt kriminālsoda mērķa komponentes, analizēt tiesas praksi, kā tiesa ir piemērojusi konkrēto kriminālsodu nepilngadīgajam. Bakalaura darbā tiek noskaidrots, ka nav vienota jēdziena no kāda vecuma iestājas pilngadība un no kāda vecuma iestājas kriminālatbildība. The Bachelor’s topic of “Purpose of criminal penalties for minors” is relevant because on the 1st of January 2022, the “Amendments to the Criminal Law” of 17th of December 2020 will come into force. The "Amendments to the Criminal Law '' sets out specific criminal penalties for minors. In the second paragraph of Article 35 of the Criminal Law, it is set forth that the purpose of the criminal penalty must be considered prior to the application of the criminal penalty in question. In the third section of the Article 64 of the Criminal Law, it is stated that it is primary to have the resocialization of the minor. The aim of this bachelor's work is to investigate the regulation of minors in Latvia and in the world, and to analyze the concept of criminal penalties, the target components of criminal penalties, and to analyze the case-law on how the court has applied the specific criminal penalty to the minor. Throughout this bachelor's work, it was found that there is no uniform concept of coming of age and the criminalization of age.
