Centrālās izlūkošanas pārvaldes REDSOX programma Baltijā 20. gs. 50. gados: mērķi, norise, rezultāti

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā “Centrālās Izlūkošanas pārvaldes REDSOX programma Baltijā 20. gs. 50. gados: mērķi, norise, rezultāti” aplūkota viena no historiogrāfijā maz pētītajām CIP izlūkošanas programmām Aukstā kara sākumposmā Austrumeiropas reģionā, laika periodā no programmas uzsākšanas 1949. gadā līdz tās izbeigšanai 1959. gadā. Pētījuma mērķis ir analizēt un salīdzināt CIP REDSOX programmā pielietotos paņēmienus, operāciju norises gaitu un to rezultātus Baltijas padomju republikās 20. gs. 50. gados. Darba ietvaros analizētas Rietumu izlūkdienestu intereses Austrumeiropā pēc Otrā pasaules kara, noskaidroti REDSOX programmas mērķi un pētīta šo izlūkošanas projektu organizatoriskā puse, īpašu uzmanību pievēršot tieši latviešu, lietuviešu un igauņu trimdinieku vervēšanas un sagatavošanas procesa izpētei, kā arī šo slepeno operāciju norises gaitas atspoguļojumam pēc izlūku desantēšanas aiz “dzelzs priekškara”.

The Bachelor Thesis “Central Intelligence Agency’s REDSOX program in 1950’s Baltics: objectives, process and results” analyses one of the CIA intelligence programs in the early Cold War region of Eastern Europe, from the beginning of the program in 1949 to its end in 1959. The aim of the research is to analyse and compare the techniques used in the CIA REDSOX program, the course of operations and their results in the Soviet republics of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia in the 1950’s. Within the framework of the work, the author analyses the interests of Western intelligence services in Eastern Europe in the post-war years, clarifies the goals of the REDSOX program and analyses the organizational side of these US intelligence projects, paying special attention to the study of the process of recruitment and preparation of Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian exiles, as well as a reflection of the progress of these covert operations after the landing of the agents behind the “Iron Curtain”.
