Kultakmeņi Latvijas teritorijā kā arheoloģiskās izpētes objekts: funkcionalitāte un izmantošanas hronoloģija

Abstract

Pētījumā, izmantojot triangulācijas pieeju, akmeņu folklora salīdzināta ar arheoloģisko materiālu, rakstiskajos avotos rodamo informāciju un ikonogrāfisko materiālu, identificējot vairākas kultakmeņu funkcijas, kas var pārklāties laikā. Ziedošana uzskatāma par sekundāru funkciju kultakmeņiem, kuru primārā funkcija saistīta ar apbedīšanas rituāliem vai depozītu sargāšanu. Savukārt krustakmeņiem, kuru primārā funkcija saistīta ar kristīgās telpas robežu iezīmēšanu ainavā, sekundārā funkcija saistīta ar upurēšanu. Kultakmeņu funkcijas korelē ar dabas objektu situējumu ainavā. Kultakmeņi situēti tiešā kopienas apdzīvotās teritorijas tuvumā vai ir tās ainavas sastāvdaļa. Veicot Grīžu Velna beņķa arheoloģiskās izpētes rezultātu interpretāciju, konstatēta šī kultakmeņa iespējamā saistība ar sieviešu veselības un auglības funkcijām.

The study, using a triangulation approach, compares folklore of stones with archaeological material, the information from written sources and iconographic material, identifying several functions of the cult stones that may overlap over the time. The donation should be considered as secondary function of the cult stones; the primary function is related to the burial rituals or protection of the deposits. However, for the cross stones whose primary function involves marking the borders of Christian space in the landscape, the secondary function is related with sacrificing. The cult stones are situated in the immediate vicinity of the inhabited area by the community, or the cult stones are the part of the landscape. The interpretation of the results of archaeological study of Grīži Devil’s Seat found the potential relationship between the cult stone and the health and fertility functions of women.
