Lubāna ledus loba veidotās reljefa formas Atzeles pacēlumā

Abstract

Maģistra darbā tika analizētas glaciālās reljefa formas un to izkārtojums Austrumlatvijā, Atzeles pacēlumā, pielietojot 1 m izšķirtspējas digitālo reljefa modeli, kas iegūts no lāzerskenēšanas datiem. Pētījuma teritorija atrodas Fenoskandijas ledus vairoga dienvidaustrumu sektorā, kur uzvirzījās Lubāna ledus lobs. Pētījuma teritorijas glaciālā ģeomorfoloģija nodrošina lielisku iespēju pētīt zemledāja apstākļus un ledus loba plūsmu un iespējamos uzplūdus. Lubāna ledus loba atstātās “pēdas” robežojas no lielizmēra glaciālajiem lineamentiem (LGL) līdz neliela izmēra šķērseniskiem, ģeometriskiem grēdu tīkliem, kā arī ledājūdeņu reljefa formām (osi, ledājkušanas ūdeņu kanāli, tuneļielejas). Pētījuma teritorijā tika novērotas arī izteiktas zigzagveida grēdas. LGL ir pārklāti ar zemas amplitūdas šķērseniskām grēdām, kas interpretētas kā plaisu aizpildījuma grēdas. Atzeles pacēlumā sastopamo reljefa formu kopums sniedz liecības par Lubāna ledus loba straujo uzvirzīšanos (uzplūdiem) deglaciācijas laikā. Plaisu aizpildījuma grēdas, kas identificētas Atzeles pacēlumā, visticamāk veidojās zemledāja materiālam tiekot iespiestam bazālajās plaisās, kad zemledāja materiāls bija piesātināts ar ūdeni un viegli deformējams, notiekot ledus uzplūdiem vai īsi pēc tiem. Tādejādi plaisu aizpildījuma grēdas var tikt izmantotas kā indikators uzplūda tipa ledāju uzvedībai paleo-glacioloģiskajām rekonstrukcijām. Ledājūdeņu reljefa formas sniedz norādes, lai izprastu, kā Lubāna ledus loba gultnē norisinājās ledājūdeņu drenāža.

Grīnbauma, I. 2022. Landforms of the Lubāns Ice Lobe in the Atzele Elevated Plain. Master’s thesis. Riga, University of Latvia, Faculty of Geography and Earth Science. In Master’s thesis, a 1 m digital elevation model derived from airborne LiDAR data was used to analyse the glacial geomorphology of the Atzele Elevated Plain (AEP), Eastern Latvia. The study area is located in the SE sector of Scandinavian Ice Sheet where the Lubāns Ice Lobe (LIL) operated. The glacial geomorphology of the study area provides an excellent opportunity to study subglacial processes and ice streaming/surging. The geomorphic imprint left by the LIL range from mega-scale glacial lineations (MSGLs) to small transverse geometric ridge networks and glacial meltwater landforms (eskers, meltwater channels un tunnel valleys). Also, prominent ridges with ‘zig-zag’ appearance have been observed. MSGLs are superimposed by low-amplitude transverse ridges, which are interpreted as crevasse squeeze ridges (CSRs). The landform assemblage provides the evidence of the surging behaviour of the LIL in the AEP during the deglaciation. CSRs in the AEP were likely produced by till squeezing upwards into basal crevasses when the deformable sediments (subglacial till) were saturated either during or immediately after a surge. Thus, the CSRs imprint in paleo-glaciated terrain can be used as indicator of surge behaviour in paleo-glaciological reconstructions. Eskers and tunnel valley systems give clue for the understanding of the subglacial meltwater drainage under the LIL.
