Both the settlement of Latvia and the internal development and standard of living are a clear example of a monocentric structure, where the concentration of the ongoing processes takes place around the central part of the country, specifically because of the influence caused by Riga. This creates significant inequalities at national level, both in the distribution of income of the population and in the development of municipalities, as well as in the development of fundamentally important aspects, such as the availability of medical services or the quality of transport infrastructure. That is why the equalisation of regional development and other regional inequalities is an important issue in Latvia. All of this is at its core formed by society with its own habitability, which are clearly represented in economic statistics, since both of these aspects are inseparable from each other. As part of the research, the relationship between population and it`s changes with economic indicators is analysed with geographically weighted regression models and other statistical methods that include a geographical aspect in order to better distinguish specific features and potential anomalies at regional and municipal level. The results identify municipalities, which form both clusters of the same indicators and municipalities of outliers, as well as find a difference in the impact of economic indicators between cases when they are analyzed in the context of migration indicators and in the case when used to study population changes on their own.
