Abstract
Šis pētījums ir veikts aktuālā starptautiskā projekta LEXECON. The Economic Teacher: A transnational and diachronic study of treatises and textbooks of economics (18th to 20th century). Intra- and interlingual corpus-driven and corpus-based analysis with a focus on lexicon and argumentation ietvaros.
The current study is undertaken within the framework of the ongoing international project LEXECON. The Economic Teacher: A transnational and diachronic study of treatises and textbooks of economics (18th to 20th century). Intra- and interlingual corpus-driven and corpus-based analysis with a focus on lexicon and argumentation. The goal of the thesis is to research the subjectivity of the texts on political economy by applying corpus linguistics method and showcasing its possibilities and limitations. The methods include sentiment analysis and corpus linguistics. The results suggest that context and surplus/deficit analysis influence the interpretation of frequency data, and that comparing the subjectivity level is feasible across two genres with a similar purpose.
