Etniskās un nacionālās gastroidentitātes romānu sērijā “Mēs. Latvija, XX gadsimts”

Abstract

Ēdienam ir būtiska funkcija kultūras, etniskās un nacionālās identitātes veidošanā – šī iemesla dēļ tēlu konstrukcija un raksturojums literāros darbos nereti tiek realizēts tieši caur gastropoētiskiem elementiem. Šis maģistra darbs skata etnisko un nacionālo gastroidentitāšu atveidi 13 sērijas “Mēs. Latvija, XX gadsimts” romānos, izmantojot metodoloģiju, kas balstīta uz imagoloģijas un semiotikas literatūrpētniecības teorijām. Darbā raksturots un klasificēts pētījumā identificēto gastroimagoloģisko tekstu īpatsvars, iezīmes un funkcijas, kā arī izceltas visplašāk pārstāvētās nacionālās un etniskās gastroidentitāšu grupas un tām piešķirtās semiotiskās īpašības. Pētījumā iegūtie dati tikuši skatīti gan visas romānu sērijas mērogā, gan katrā romānā atsevišķi, tos savstarpēji salīdzinot, lai izceltu literārajos darbos realizēto gastroidentitāšu atveides līdzības un atšķirības.

Food plays a crucial part in the formation of cultural, ethnic and national identity, and it is through gastropoetic texts that the construction and description of characters is often carried out in literature as well. This thesis examines the portrayal of ethnic and national gastronomic identities in the 13 novels of the “Mēs. Latvija, XX gadsimts” series through a methodological framework combining imagology and semiotics. The paper examines the volume, as well as characterisation and classification of various features and functions of gastroimagological texts identified during the study; it also pinpoints the most frequently depicted groups of gastroidentities and the semiotic meanings that have been ascribed to them. The data acquired in the study has been analysed within the scope of the entire novel series, as well as in each of the works separately, to compare the novels and highlight the respective similarities and differences in the portrayal of gastroidentities within them.
