(p=0,006) Diabetes is a widespread disease that affects people all over the world. Over the last 30 years, the number of people with diabetes has doubled, making it one of the most important public health problems worldwide. There are several known causes of the development of type 2 diabetes, but obesity, insulin resistance and genetic predisposition are among the main ones. Patients with type 2 diabetes are offered different types of therapy, which are tailored to each individual patient. Although the disease is not completely curable, the therapies enable patients to live a fuller life and reduce the incidence and severity of potential long-term complications. Aims of the study. To determine the clinical manifestations of hyperandrogenaemia and insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Materials and methods. The study included 100 female respondents diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus. A questionnaire was developed, which contained questions about the general condition of the respondents, the treatment used for diabetes mellitus and clinical manifestations of hyperandrogenaemia and insulin resistance. Statistical processing was performed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS software. Results. The mean age of the patients included in the study was 54.52 years 13.32 years. The majority of the study respondents had an elevated BMI. The average was 32.75 kg/m2 7.99. Analysing the results of the study, dyslipidaemia was the most common clinical manifestation among the respondents, occurring in 67 patients (67%). Other common clinical manifestations included hair loss in 60 respondents (60%), hirsutism in 50 (50%), overweight in 63 (63%) and increased blood pressure in 64 (64%). Summarising the scores obtained, the lowest quality of life score is 3 points, while the highest is 10 points. The average quality of life score among all 100 respondents was 6.55 1.47 points. Data analysis confirmed that there was a statistically significant correlation between the variables, HbA1c and quality of life scores (p=0.006). Conclusions: 1.Dyslipidaemia is the most common clinical manifestation among respondents, occurring in 67% of cases. Other common clinical manifestations: hair loss - 60%, hirsutism - 50%, overweight - 63% and increased arterial blood pressure - 64%. 2.A statistically significant correlation was found between HbA1c and the average daily blood glucose level of the respondents. (p=0,011) 3.The mean quality of life score among all 100 respondents was 6.55 1.47 points. 4.A statistically significant correlation was found between HbA1c and quality of life. (p=0,006)
