A wide range of terrain generation tools is available today. However, in order to generate a terrain similar to a particular country or region, the operator of the tool itself must be aware of all the geographical details and nuances, thus investing time in the research process. Emphasis on the word 'similar', as regional terrain simulators are still a sought-after material not only for soldier training but also useful as test data for unmanned vehicle training, and it would be wrong to use only a specific existing terrain model for successful results. In an age where geographic parameters are available in an open data format, it would be worthwhile to pay attention to the possibility of generating real terrain-like data directly using this data. Special attention in modern computing is also paid to the study of deep machine learning, which would be interesting to try in terrain generation. Within the framework of the master's thesis, the potential possibilities to process open data describing the terrain of a region and to generate a terrain similar to that region are explored. The author uses both machine learning approaches and other hypothetically valid methods, and evaluates the similarity of the obtained terrains to those described in the original open data in order to understand whether the generation of such relief is possible.
