Pozitīvais pastiprinājums angļu valodas vārdu krājuma apguvei 7.klasē

Abstract

Būdama angļu valodas skolotāja Diplomdarba autore mācību prakses laikā, novērojusi, ka pamatskolas skolotāji saskaras ar izaicinājumiem, kas attiecās uz skolēnu uzvedību mācību stundās , un vēlmi būt aktīviem dalībniekiem valoda apguves aktivitātēs. Diplomdarba mērķis ir izpētīt, kā pozitīvā pastiprinājuma ieviešana angļu valodas stundās palīdz izglītojamajiem uzlabot angļu valodas vārdu krājuma apguvi 7. klasē. Gadījuma izpēte tika veikta vienā no Vidzemes vidusskolām. Datu vākšanas metodes ir studentu anketa, autora veiktie skolotāju žurnāla ieraksti, studentu atsauksme, darba autores un viņas mentores novērojumi. Tika konstatēts, ka pozitīvais pastiprinājums uzlabo vārdu krājuma apguvi, jo toas motivē skolēnus paveikt uzdevumus, kā arī tas paaugstina skolēnu pašpārliecību par viņu esošajām vārdu krājuma zināšanām. Tomēr autore secina, ka ir nepieciešami turpmāki pētījumi ar vairāk atvēlētu laiku un aktivitātēm, kam seko pozitīvai pastiprinājums, lai pilnībā noteiktu pozitīvā pastiprinājuma ietekmi uz vārdu krājuma apguvi.

Being a teacher of English during the teaching practice, the author of the Diploma Paper observed that in lower secondary school teachers experienced challenges managing students’ behaviour in lessons and their willingness to be active participator in the presented vocabulary activities. Therefore the aim of the Paper is to study how the implementation of positive reinforcement in English language lessons helps learners to enhance their English vocabulary learning in Grade 7. The case study was carried out in one of Vidzeme’s secondary schools. The data collection methods are a student questionnaire, author’s made teacher journal entries, student’s feedback and observations by both the author of the Paper and her mentor. It was found that positive reinforcement does improve vocabulary learning as it gives more motivation for learners to do the presented activities and it raises their confidence in their vocabulary knowledge. However, the author concludes that further research with more time and activities followed by positive reinforcement is needed to fully determine the effect of positive reinforcement on vocabulary learning.
