Masu mediju nozīme demokrātijā

Abstract

Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt masu mediju nozīmi un lomu demokrātiskā valstī, kā arī kāda ir saikne un mijiedarbība starp tautu, masu medijiem un tiesisku demokrātisku valsti. Mijiedarbība starp tautu, masu medijiem un valsts iekārtu nodrošina, ka tauta un valsts ievēlētie pārstāvji spēj komunicēt ar viens ar otru – tādā veidā gan tauta, gan valsts kopumā kļūst politiski attīstītāka. Tiek aplūkoti dažādi autoru darbi: gan latviešu autori, tostarp Artūra Kuča, Jāņa Plepa darbi, gan ārzemju autori – Jirgens Hābermass (Jürgen Habermas), Māršals Makluens (Marshall MacLuhan), Džeimss Medisons (James Madison) u.c. Pētīt autoru darbus no dažādām valstīm un no dažādiem laika periodiem ir nozīmīgi, lai varētu analizēt darba tēmas aktualitāti. Darba tēmas pētīšanai izmantoti Latvijas Republikas tiesību akti un citu valstu tiesību akti, kā, piemēram, Amerikas Savienoto Valstu tiesību regulējumu – vārda brīvības un preses brīvības vēsturiskās nozīmēs dēļ Amerikas Savienotajās Valstīs.

The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to analyse the role and meaning of mass media in a democratic state as well as the relationship between the people of the state, the state which is a independent democratic state and mass media itself. Interaction between the people of the state, mass media and the state provides the opportunity to communicate with one another – that gives the opportunity for the people of the state and the state itself to grow and evolve politically. The thesis contains an analysis of latvian authors such as – Artūrs Kučs and Jānis Pleps as well as foreign authors such as – Jürgen Habermas, Marshall MacLuen, James Madison and others. By analysing latvian authors as well as foreign authors it is possible to make conclusions about the role of mass media in a democratic state. The author of this thesis has analysed laws of The Republic of Latvia and laws from other countries, such as The United States of America, because of the historic significance of freedom of speech and freedom of the press in The United States of America.
