It should be clear at this point that endless economic development is incompatible with the limited resources and services that nature can provide. Although the awareness that nature is more than a means to meet human needs is constantly increases, there is a growing sense that the current legal framework of the environment is incapable of dealing with the dangers posed by humans. Therefore, the aim of the Bachelor Thesis is to find out whether the recognition of nature as a legal subject could improve the situation. To achieve the aim, not only the content, understanding, application practice and issue of the concept of nature as a legal subject and the existing environmental law are studied and analyzed, but also the aim and essence of environmental protection, emphasizing the necessity to change attitude and recogninition of natures rights as a potential solution.
