Freedom of expression and freedom of identity are very closely linked and complementary concepts. The right to expression is guaranteed by several national and international laws. The topic of the bachelor's thesis is "Freedom of expression and identity in employment relations". The question of how an individual should look or behave in order to have a better chance of establishing an employment relationship or maintaining an existing one is still relevant today. Recent court rulings reflect the urgency of the subject and the clear need to list the employer's rights, which would include permissible restrictions on the employee's freedom of expression. The paper analyzes freedom of expression and freedom of identity as a fundamental human right, explains the most important aspects of the concepts, as well as summarizes possible restrictions on employee freedom of expression. Both Latvian and foreign normative acts, as well as court judgments are used in the work.
